National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu says his visit to President Buhari was nothing out of the ordinary.

Tinubu was at the presidential villa on Tuesday alongside former Interim national chairman, Bisi Akande.

The duo, however, left the presidential villa without speaking to State House Correspondents.

In a terse statement, Tinubu’s spokesman, Tunde Rahman, explained that the visit to Buhari was scheduled last week.

“President Buhari periodically schedules talks with Asiwaju Tinubu and Baba Akande, as he does with other Nigerians and APC figures, to discuss substantive issues pertaining to the governance of the country and matters concerning the party”, it said.

“This visit was one such meeting. As such, the meeting had nothing to do with the statement of former President Obasanjo.

“It is totally unconnected. At the time of the meeting, Asiwaju Tinubu and Baba Akande were even unaware that President Obasanjo had released his statement.”

The APC chieftains arrived the villa at 3:50pm and left at about 5:00pm.

The former leader, in his letter, also promoted what may become a political party, Coalition for Nigeria, CN.

“I, therefore, will gladly join such a Movement when one is established as Coalition for Nigeria, CN, taking Nigeria to the height God has created it to be. From now on, the Nigeria eagle must continue to soar and fly high”, he said.

“CN, as a Movement, will be new, green, transparent and must remain clean and always active, selflessly so.”

Obasanjo lambasted the ruling APC and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), insisting that they cannot solve Nigeria’s problems.

Meanwhile, the Presidency is maintaining sealed lips on Obasanjo’s position.

Presidential aide on media, Garba Shehu said the media team “won’t comment now”.
