The National Assembly security has been tightened with operatives screening and scanning people coming into the complex as suspended lawmaker, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege may resume this morning.

The embattled lawmaker representing Delta Central Senatorial district got reinstated last week by a Federal High Court in Abuja.

The presiding Judge, Justice Nnamdi Dimgba in his ruling after hearing a motion filed by the suspended lawmaker’s counsel, Alex Iziyon reinstated Omo-Agege with full benefits.

The Senate has, however, appealed the judgement, but Omo-Agege has reacted, saying, he will resume sitting despite the appeal.

Meanwhile, police officer believed to be in charge of the first gates that are having hectic day carrying out security checks on vehicles coming in told DAILY POST that they have been directed to allow Omo-Agege if he eventually surfaces.

“We have been given the instructions to allow him into the complex if he comes. Of course, is he not a Senator?”

Ovie Omo-Agege was suspended for 90 legislative days following a report by the Senate Committee of Public Petitions, Ethics and Privileges over his comment that the reordered electoral timetable was targeted at President Muhammadu Buhari.

If the reinstatement of the lawmaker by the court is sustained, Omo-Agege would be the first to have his suspension expeditiously dispensed having been suspended on 12th April, 2018.
