Three suspects arrested for robbing policeman in Delta

The Police in Warri, Delta State have arrested three suspected armed robbers for allegedly robbing a policeman along the popular Hausa quarters near God’s Kingdom Society in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, DAILY POST can report.

It was learnt that the three suspects in a commercial tricycle with registration number: Delta- DT 546 HD trailed the said policeman to a commercial bank where he went to withdraw money with his ATM card.

As soon as the policeman came out of the bank premises, they (the suspects) attacked the policeman who was on mufti with daggers, knives and other dangerous weapons before dispossessing him of unspecified amount of money and other personal effects including his ATM card.

The victim quickly alerted other mobile policemen at a security post near the scene and they quickly swung into action with local vigilante in Igbudu and arrested the three suspected armed robbers.

The suspected armed robbers were beaten to stupor before they were dragged to “B” Division Police Station in Warri.

The Divisional Police Officer, CSP Anieteh Eyoh declined comments on the matter.

However, a police source, who craved anonymity, said they have arrested the suspects stressing that they’re currently being interrogated.

When contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Mustafa confirmed the report in text message to our correspondent.

According to Mustafa, “It is confirmed that 3 suspects have been arrested and exhibit have been found on them which was money withdrawn from ATM.”
