Three persons suspected to be cultists have been killed in Calabar, the Cross River State capital. This follows a renewed cult activity in the state capital.
Recently, over twenty suspected cultists were murdered in Calabar. Consequently, economic, social and political activities were brought to a standstill after cult groups, Klans (KK) and Vikings clashed.
Most of the suspected cultists were killed in various streets and houses. The notable streets then were in Calabar South local government area and Calabar Municipal. At Ikot Ishie in Calabar Municipal, over three persons were murdered; one at Nsemo Street, one at AB Martin field and the other one at Old Obutong, etc.
However, the latest cult activity was between Mafians and Vikings in which three persons were suspected to have been murdered. Two males from Mafians and a man from Viking were gunned down. Death toll is likely to rise as there was intense movement especially in Calabar South. Information reaching DAILY POST disclosed that the two factions are out to take on each other.
When our reporter called the Police Public Relations Officer, Cross River State Command, ASP Irene Ugbo, for response, she said she was very busy and promised to call back.
