Three children were reportedly killed in front of their mother at Silimanti area of Maiduguri at the wee hours of Thursday by unidentified bloodthirsty assailants.
The victims who were children of a security operative in Maiduguri, Borno State capital according to sources were slaughtered around 2am.
One of our sources said, “The attackers slit the throats of the kids and left them in the pool of their blood.”
In another attack, gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Boko Haram foot soldiers killed five men at Lawan Bukar Ward in Maiduguri.
The five men were allegedly killed for being informants of security operatives.
Spokesman of the Joint Task Force (JTF), Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, when contacted by journalists said he was out of town on an official engagement.
Efforts to reach the police spokesman, Gideon Jibrin were fruitless as his phones rang endlessly without answer.
