This morning, we reported that striker, Emmanuel Emenike, will miss Sunday’s AFCON final against Burkina Faso, because of a muscle tear in his right leg (read it HERE). We published that report, based on information from a leading journalist, Gary Al Smith, who has a strong knowledge of African football.
However, when contacted by BBC’s Oluwashina Okeleji, the Media Officer of the team, Ben Alaiya, has waved off such claims as “crazy rumours”.
He was quoted as saying: “Out? Crazy rumour. There’s no official word from team doctor and Moses will train today.
Alaiya also promised to release a press statement, as soon as he speaks with the team doctor later today.
