Newly elected BOT chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), chief Tony Anenih has referred to the merger of some political parties in the country as “a pack of weak blocks that cannot construct an enduring edifice”
According to him, with his assumption into office as the BOT chairman, “PDP is on the move again and cannot be stopped by any merged political parties’’.
“APC is not a threat to PDP. We never had a strong opposition. Let us see how strong APC will be,’’ he said.
Anenih further pledged to make tireless effort towards redeeming the good image of the party.
The PDP’s BoT chairmanship position has been vacant since early 2012 when former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, announced his resignation.
Those at the meeting included, President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President, Namadi Sambo, Senate President, David Mark, Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal.
Others were; Secretary to the Federal Government, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State and Gov. Jonah Jang of Plateau.
Also in attendance were; Prof. Jubril Aminu, Mrs Josephine Anenih, Dr Bode Olajumoke, Don Etiebet, Prof. Jerry Gana, Banabas Gemade, Dr Kema Chikwe and Dr Hassan Adamu.
Anenih, who was a one-time chairman of the BoT, said his second coming would bring tremendous change to the party.
