Captain of Enyimba, Chinedu Udoji, has said that they are under pressure to win their third CAF Champions League trophy this year.
The Peoples Elephant won the competition in 2003 and 2004. Last month, they qualified for the group phase, after edging out Etoile du Sahel via penalties, after the two legs ended 3-3 on aggregate.
Speaking ahead of the May 24 draws, Udoji admitted: “We are under pressure going into the group stage. We are not under pressure from the management or anybody, but we are under pressure as players because our names are at stake.”
Udoji also accepted that the failure of other Nigerian teams in continental competitions, does not speak well of the Nigeria Professional Footbalal League (NPFL).
“We have to do well in the Champions League because the failure (of the other teams) doesn’t speak well of our league and if we don’t do well, we will be rated lowly,” he added.
