The Commissioner, who disclosed this during a press briefing at the State Ministry of Health said all measures had been put on ground to guard against the disease. He said the briefing became necessary as his office had been inundated with questions from the people of the State on the Ebola virus. Dr. Eze stated that “up till now, we have not established any Ebola case in Enugu State, for now it is a threat across the country but we are guarding against it. “We want to let you know that we have the manpower, the muscle, and our specialists have put heads together to manage the situation”. “The Governor, Barr. Sullivan Chime, has always reiterated the need for a healthy State; that is why he has empowered the ministry down the line. “So, we are calling on our people not to panic but take the necessary precautions. “Our best is to prepare ourselves to tackle this scourge if it comes. For any scourge that came in the past, it was contained. So, we believe that this one will be contained. “We have earlier started sensitization in the media but we feel that it is not enough; we are coming with bombardment that will not create panic among the members of the public”, he added. The Commissioner further assured that health personnel in the State had been adequately trained and equipped to respond promptly when the need arises.
