Bayern Munich coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has said he is “excited” about their Champions League quarter-final clash against his former club, Real Madrid.
Ancelotti said Madrid are a “fantastic” team, but he has “faith” his side can eliminate them.
“Real are world champion, Champions League holders with a fantastic team, players and trainer,” Ancelotti said at news conference.
“It’s a special game for me and I’m excited by the prospect of facing Real Madrid.”
The Italian tactician however insisted that Bayern do not have any advantage over his former team, who he trained from 2013 to 2015.
“In modern football, every team knows everything about each other,” he said.
“This isn’t a topic for me. I know everything you need to know about every team in Europe, not only Real Madrid. There’s no advantage.”
He added: “There are no secrets in football. But we want to win the Champions League and have faith in ourselves. Quarter finals are always difficult, it’s going to be a tough game but we have a chance to win.
“It’s also exciting for me to return to Madrid, but it’s only a game and we want to be the best team against Real.”
