Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho, has said that there are four teams fighting to be Premier League champions this season.

Although the Blues are firm favourites to win it, Mourinho is refusing to be carried away and says Arsenal and Manchester United are potential challengers.

“It’s four now,” Mourinho told the media on Friday. “You see the points difference, and it’s four, not five because you see the gap [between United in 4th and Liverpool in 5th].

“There is a gap from four to five and with eight matches to go, it’s a difficult gap.

“The points difference between second, third and fourth makes me think they’re (Manchester United) there.”

Chelsea are six points ahead of second-placed Manchester City with a game in hand and Mourinho is happy with his side’s position.

He said: “We need six victories and one draw in nine matches. A good situation for us. A situation all the other clubs would like.

“It’s pure mathematics. We need to win six matches and draw one. We haven’t done that yet.

“[It’s] too early [to pick a date for when we will win the league] but if we are champions in last match I’m happy with that.”
