Terry misses training, doubtful for PSG clash

Former England skipper and Chelsea captain John Terry, may not feature in the Wednesday’s Champions League round of 16 second leg clash with Paris Saint-Germain in Stanford Bridge after missing Tuesday’s final pre-match training session.

Terry, 35, sustained a hamstring injury during his side’s 5-1 Premier League win over Newcastle United on February 13 and has not featured since.

He was not part of Tuesday’s group training session at Chelsea’s Cobham training base and was reported to be working alone in a bid to prove his fitness.

John Terry and Kurt Zouma’s layoff with serious knee injuries has seen Chelsea using Branislav Ivanovic and Gary Cahill at centre-back in recent matches.

Meanwhile, Spanish international, Diego Costa did take part in training, having stayed off Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home to Stoke City in order to avoid more damage to a minor tendon problem he sustained during Norwich City game.

Also present in Tuesday’s training were Kennedy and Pedro Rodriguez, who have been troubled by groin and hamstring problems respectively.

PSG arrives West London with a 2-1 lead over the Premier League champions which represents the third season in succession that the two teams have met in the Champions League knockout phase.

Chelsea knocked PSG out on away goals in the 2013-14 quarter-finals.
