Tension has continued to mount in Ughelli community of Delta State following the alleged ritual murder of a housewife identified as Felicia Okpeh by unidentified ritualists.
It was gathered that the woman, a native of Okparabe community on Wednesday went to her farmland to fetch firewood but never returned.
But her family member who spoke to journalists in Asaba, Mr, Robbert Oghenetega said a search party was conducted by the family and vigilante members, and the corpse of the woman was found in the bush close to her farmland with some parts removed.
The police commissioner in the state, Mustafa Muhammad who confirmed the incident to journalists, said the victim’s corpse was found with marks of violence, open wounds on the head and her palm, an indication that she was murdered by ritualists.
He said that investigating was ongoing as the police will do everything possible to bring to book the perpetrators, adding that though no arrest has been made, the police were working round the clock to ensure those behind the wicked act are brought to book.
