Unknown men of the underworld terrorising the North-West zone of of the country raided three villages; Akuzo, Makera and Usu in the rural area of Zamfara State, killing at least ten people and injuring no fewer than seven others.
Zamfara State Information Commissioner, Ibrahim Birnin Magaji, on Sunday said that the armed robbers attacked the villages on Saturday morning, when residents had left for mosque.
He said the attack might be linked to a gang responsible for the several mass attacks in the area in recent months as they raid rural villages in Zamfara and neighbouring Kaduna state, but affirmed that investigation was ongoing on the attacks.
It would be recalled that about 27 people were killed by unknown gunmen in Zamfara State in June 2012 and at least 27 others lost their lives in an attack in October.
