A former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala and the Governor-elect in the state, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday paid condolence visits to the family of the slain Oyo lawmaker, Hon. Temitope Olatoye.
Olatoye, who was elected to represent Akinyele/ Lagelu in the House of Representatives on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015, was until his death, Chairman House Committee on Urban Development and Regional Planning.
Our correspondent recalls that Olatoye was shot in the eyes during the gubernatorial and state House of Assembly elections by some unknown gunmen shortly after voting at his Alape Village, Ward 13 in Lagelu Local Government area on Saturday.
He was the senatorial candidate of Acton Democratic Party (ADP) for Oyo Central in the National Assembly election held on Saturday, 23rd February.
Olatoye, who died at the age of 46, left behind an 85- year old father, Pa Adebayo Olatoye, mother, wives and children.
The former governor, who was also the gubernatorial candidate of ADP before he formed alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, said that he was in the home of the slain lawmaker to sympathise with the family.
Alao-Akala, who was accompanied by his aides and supporters prayed to God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
He said, “Earlier today, I paid a condolence visit to the family of murdered Hon. Olatoye Temitope Sugar.
“My God give the families and friends of the federal lawmaker, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”.
Makinde in the same vein also visited the family to sympathise with them.
The governor-elect while sympathising with the family also prayed to God to give them the heart to bear the loss.
