Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Taraba state, Alhaji Hassan Ardo has urged the party’s supporters in the state to be law-abiding, despite any form of provocation.
Ardo made the call on Saturday while addressing newsmen in Jalingo, the state capital.
According to Ardo, the party is aware of an underground ploy by some group to cause breach of peace and ignite violence in the state.
He said, “We observed that some elements are out to cause trouble and blame it on the APC, with a view to attracting attention, but our members are peace-loving people.
“Our electoral verdict was obtained through a peaceful process and we expect anyone that is not satisfied with the outcome, to seek for redress in the courts.
The state chairman noted that the victory of the party at the Election Petitions Tribunal on November 7 in Abuja, came as a shock to the opposition in the state, adding that the victory was a triumph of democracy over elements of impunity.
Ardo further appealed to security operatives in the state to be on the watch out so as to safeguard lives and property of citizens.
