Stephen Keshi has been included in a shortlist of coaches, to take over from Joseph Omog, who was sacked by Tanzanian club Azam on Monday.

Omog was fired, just 24 hours after Azam were dumped out of the CAF Champions League. El-Merreikh beat them 2-3 over two legs.

General Secretary of the club Idrissa Nassoro, confirmed they were in talks with Keshi and other coaches.

“We continue to have talks with coaches from different parts of the world, but there is a greater chance of Nigerian Stephen Keshi taking over Joseph Omog’s place because negotiations between us and him are going well, and his background is something that has attracted us,” Nassoro told Goal.

Keshi is currently embroiled in contract talks with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), after he missed out on the Burkina Faso job.
