Tanker kills two in Kogi after brake failure

An auto-crash involving a diesel-laden tanker occurred on Wednesday night at about 9:30pm around the Felele area in Lokoja, Kogi state, claiming two lives.

The accident which was caused by a brake failure burnt the tanker driver and his motor boy beyond recognition.

In addition, about seven shops and a hotel were destroyed in the subsequent inferno which ignited afterward.

Nation reports that the quick intervention of the Kogi State Fire Service personnel brought the situation under control.

Two other vehicles were said to be burnt in the accident, while the Sewange Hotel, which housed commercial sex workers, was partially consumed.

A commercial sex worker was overheard lamenting her fate, saying, “I am finished, they have finished me. These people have finished me. Everything I have worked for have been destroyed.”
