Tambuwal reveals why he steered clear the selection of Assembly’s principal officers

Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state has noted that his administration decided not to meddle in the selection of the principal officers of the state

House of Assembly because of its resolve to have a harmonious working relationship with the legislative arm of government.

Speaking when he received members of the state Assembly led by its newly-elected Speaker, Hon. Salihu Maidaji, in Sokoto, Tambuwal stressed that his administration would encourage and support the new leadership to achieve its set objectives.

While commending the members for the orderly manner they conducted their affairs on the first day of sitting, he urged the new leaders to work for the unity, stability and progress of the state at all times.

“You should join hands together to make laws that will lead to the progress and development of Sokoto Stateâ€, he admonished.

Tambuwal assured to exert his experience as a former lawmaker in enthroning a smooth working relationship between the Executive and other arms of government in the state.

In an earlier remark, Maidaji commended Tambuwal for his role in the promotion of the ethos of the legislature.

He assured the Governor that the state Assembly would work hand in glove with the state government to provide quality and responsible leadership to the people of Sokoto state.

The Speaker consequently appealed to Tambuwal to always be on hand to offer advice to the new members when the need arises.
