Tambuwal reveals why he left PDP for APC

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has explained why he dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress on Wednesday.

According to him, corruption had been institutionalised in the ruling party.

Tambuwal, who stated this after he was officially admitted as a member of the APC, noted that apart from corruption, the PDP had failed to address issues of youth unemployment and insecurity.

He urged Nigerians to reject the PDP, pointing out that with the support of the electorates, the party will no longer be in office as from May 29 next year.

“By the grace of Allah, by this time on May 29, 2015, PDP will be swept off the seat of government”, the Speaker said.

“I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of emotions since I joined the APC over which I say, thank you very much.

“I promise to use this opportunity to work to lift Nigeria away from the evil governance inflicted on it by PDP.”

Tambuwal maintained that Nigeria only needed a change of leadership.

He said the PDP failed to provide purposeful leadership, hence his decision to quit from the party.

The Sokoto-born politician further listed unemployment, infrastructural decay, among others as clear problems which the PDP had foisted on the nation.
