Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal has told members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the state chapter was united and focused.

Tambuwal told PDP members to disregard any rumour of purported rift within the party.

He spoke at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Presidential Lodge, Sokoto.

In attendance were former Govenor Attahiru Bafarawa and other top PDP chieftains.

He said: “There is mutual respect between himself and former Governor Alh Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa and I am particularly thankful to people of the state for their continued support to my administration.”

Tambuwal said since his defection to the party, his relationship with leaders of the party and members at all levels was cordial and waxing stronger.

“There is no new or old member of PDP as there is only one solidly united party in the state”, he added.

He explained that the delay in appointing local government sole administrators, commissioners and other government appointees was to ensure fairness.

He described those behind reports of rancour in the PDP as “prophecy of doom.”
