Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara says his predecessor, Aminu Tambuwal, who is currently the Governor of Sokoto State “has written his name in gold”.
He gave this commendation yesterday while felicitating with the former Speaker on his appointment as life member of Nigeria’s body of benchers.
Noting that the new appointment is well-deserved, Dogara said in a statement issued on his behalf by Turaki Hassan that: “As a consummate lawyer and astute parliamentarian, Tambuwal has written his name in gold in the annals of history of the legal profession and the national assembly.
“As former speaker, Tambuwal contributed immensely to the development of the institution of the legislature and the deepening of democracy in Nigeria”.
Dogara further encouraged Tambuwal to deploy his wealth of experience as lawmaker to improve on the legal profession in the course of his service as life bencher.
