A common meeting of both the Executive and Law makers was held on Wednesday night at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to address their common outstanding issues on budget.
Dailypost gathered that the issues at the centre of their discussion was basically the contentious 2013 budget matter.
The parley presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan had in attendance leadership of the National Assembly and the members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party National Working Committee.
President of the Senate, David Mark; his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu; Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba; Senator Hosea Agboola and Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Senator Joy Emordi were at the meeting.
PDP National Chairman Bamanga Tukur, led members of the NWC including Deputy National Chairman, Sam Jaja; National Women Leader, Kema Chikwe and National Publicity Secretary, Olisah Metuh.
On the President’s team were Vice President Namadi Sambo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim; Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Mike Oghiadomhle and the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak.
Speaking to Dailypost, a personal aide to one of those in attendance said the deliberation extensively addressed the 2013 budget and some recent resolutions of the Legislative.
He added that a follow up meeting will hold in the coming days.
The Senate had on Wednesday adopted a motion calling for the immediate sack of the Chairman of the Pension Reforms Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, for gross misconduct.
Both chambers are also demanding the sack of the Director-General of the Security and Exchange Commission ,SEC, Aruma Oteh.
