A human rights group, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice, CHRSJ, wants President Muhammadu Buhari to grant the request of Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose to speak with him on phone, instead of acclaimed world leaders.
Recall that Fayose had over the weekend said rather than speak with “outsiders” the President should speak with him to prove that he was hale and hearty.
CHRSJ noted that the call became imperative because “Nigerians have been skeptical about various set of orchestrated media hype on the calling of President Buhari to some ruling APC chieftain and world leaders.”
The group maintained that it was high time “Buhari spoke with the opposition leaders in the country to affirm his message “of hale and hearty since beginning of his medical vacation in London.”
In a statement signed by its Executive Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman and sent to DAILY POST, the group noted that the news surrounding Buhari’s medical vacation had been suspicious to Nigerians because the Presidency failed to reveal the true picture of Buhari’s state of health.
Sulaiman disclosed that the group and its affiliates would soon set up the five men Committee to visit President Buhari in London in order to ascertain the state of his health and properly briefed Nigerians after the visit.
He said the continued stay of Buhari in London over medical vacation had been a call for concern by well-meaning Nigerians.
The statement added that, “President Muhammadu Buhari should return to the country and face governance. To stay away from duty post for certain period, is unconstitutional and illegal”.
