Taiwo Lawrence Adeyemi: Vindicating Oby Ezekwesili

“There is a dynamism about Nigeria’s 1960 that far exceeds anything the nation now offers, Nigeria was vibrated then with; technical power, cultural power, economic power, intercontinental power and good governance. But as the nation grows, Nigeria political class and leaders sat at tables appearing to be friendly, but in their hearts were inclined to do what was bad. Speaking lies at tables that could not benefit Nigerians, because they all aim in succeeding in their political ambitions.

‘One has the money as the principal means of action, the other servitude’. Their paths are diverse; Nevertheless, each seems called by some secret design of providence one day to hold in it’s hands the destinies of Nigeria”. [This is my reflection of the political climate of Nigeria.]

“Winning is not an all time thing, but a sometime thing. You don’t do it right all the time, but you do it right some of the time”. Has Nigeria leaders and the political class ever do it right once?

When former World Bank Vice-President, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili shouted it out, that the present government has squandered Nigeria’s foreign reserve of $8 billion dollars, President Jonathan’s media musketeers [Abati, Maku and Okupe] were quick to dismiss it as a propaganda!

Former US President, Bill Clinton told the Nigeria government that revenue that has accrue to Nigeria from the Black Gold “Oil” [black curse] has not and has never been put into proper use for the benefits of Nigerians. In Nigeria there are two types of blood, the blue blood and the black blood, with the colossal looting that has taken place in his administration,[Transparency International put it at about $5.2 trillion naira], the government did not dispute this. Why disputing Mrs Oby Ezekwesili, by President Jonathan’s media musketeers?

The oil subsidy scam and scandals involves the royal bloods, “Prick your fingers, and a drop of red will appear, not a drop of red but white, or a drop of black”.the lists of those involved points to the fact: Nigeria; My Country, Any Hopes? What happens, their arrests, trials now becomes a ‘NaijaPlaylists’ on Radios, TV stations, Online and the Print. Week in week out, the cases are mentioned in court and are adjourned.

Former Ghanaian President, Jerry Rawlings, [actually called for ‘Ghana’s Experiment], Former US President, Bill Clinton, Venezuela’s minister, former UK PM, Tony Blair and UK PM, David Cameron has one time or the other openly accuse Nigeria political class and leaders of wronging the masses. In his re-election as PDP Board of Trustee [BoT], Chief Tony Anenih, Mr Fix-It [who up-till now could not account for a colossal N30 billion naira allocated to his Ministry of Works then, for the re-construction of Benin-Ore Expressway] described the alleged merger of Nigeria main opposition political parties as weak pack of blocks assembled together that is bound to crumbled. Described as Mr Fix-It, Nigerians are waiting for 2015, if Chief Tony Anenih, will Fix-It again for PDP? If Chief Tony Anenih couldn’t fix Edo State for PDP [Adams Oshiomole’s 85 percent victory], I don’t see him fixing Nigeria for PDP comes 2015.

President Jonathan’s media musketeers; Abati on Twitter, Okupe’s Press briefings and Maku’s Press releases lambasted Oby Ezekwesili’s allegation for letting Nigerians’ knows how altruist Johnathan administration was as regards Nigeria’s money; Presidential Banquet Hall, Africa First Lady Mission House, VP residence, Nigeria Centenary Celebrations and Village, are conceived and to be bored soon!

Nigeria is running a relay for life! The baton for 2015 is going to be the most sophisticated [ICT driven] in the history of Nigeria elections, with the massive social media penetration, awareness and follower-ship; Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, NetLog, Skype, and Instagram we are indeed …………! Successive administration has left behind footprints of theirs on the sands of Nigeria time. What will be President Goodluck Jonathan’s footprints on Nigeria sands of time?

Most people have become too tolerant of murder, punished it too lightly and excused it by perpetrating the most abominable atrocities against their fellow human beings, when it was in the service of Utopian visions….! Let the rain come down and wash away Nigeria’s scourge of corruption and save the masses from the shackles of poverty and enslavement, as the king[s] can neither be de-robe, nor allowed to dance naked [go to jail] in the corruption square.

“Nigerians are weeping like a woman for what they cannot have as a man”. In the name of governance the politicians have perpetrated the most abominable atrociousness against their subjects.

Between the conceptions and creation, between the emotions and response….falls the shadows!
