Syrian national kidnapped in Sokoto released

Abul Nasir, a Syrian national working with Triacta Construction Company who was kidnapped by gunmen on Wednesday has been released.

The Sokoto State Police Command confirmed his freedom.

The Syrian national was abducted by unknown gunmen six days ago after they killed the three policemen guarding the premises of the company’s quarry site.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Cordelia Nwawe, confirming the release of the foreigner told journalists in Sokoto that the abducted Syrian was released and dropped along Arkilla area of Sokoto metropolis by Monday midnight.

According to her “the foreigner is hale and hearty and in good health contrary to insinuations that he had been killed by the kidnappers.”
