Swallow your pride, apologize to Jonathan, PDP – BoT Scribe tells Tukur

Following the suspension of the immediate past chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bamanga Tukur, the secretary of the party’s Board of Trustees, Senator Walid Jubrin, has advised him to immediately apologise to President Goodluck Jonathan and the party.

Tukur is believed to have instituted a case against the current chairman, Adamu Mu’azu to have him ousted from the position.

A member of the party, Aliyu Gubrin who filed the suit against Mu’azu was also suspended alongside Tukur.

He has, however, vowed to challenge his suspension in court.

But in his reaction, Senator Jubrin said it was unfortunate that Tukur was playing hide and seek with the party, knowing that his action violated the party’s constitution.

He said: “It is time Tukur swallowed his pride and apologise to the party and, indeed, Mr President.

“At a time when the party was gearing for elections, it is absurd that it’s past chairman should be seen to be dragging the party into disrepute.

“We should not be changing party chairmen like clothes every time.

“I expected that Tukur would for the sake of our party, join hands and ensure that our party was successful at next year’s election than this unnecessary distraction the suit is causing.”
