Arigidi-Akoko, an agrarian community in Akoko North West Local Government area of Ondo State, has been thrown into mourning following the gruesome killing of a 50-year-old trader by assailants suspected to be ritualists.
The death of the victim, who has been identified as “Iya Dunsi”, has reportedly caused tension in the community due to circumstances surrounding the killing of a palm oil trader which occurred on Wednesday night.
The lifeless body of the woman was said to have been dumped in the bush, few meters from her residence with her two breasts missing as it was suspected to have been cut-off by her killers for ritual purposes.
Confirming the incident, the Akoko North west Divisional Police Officer, SP Ibitayo Adetanranmi assured that the perpetrators of the dastardly act would be fished out soon.
He added that no arrest has been made but investigation has begun towards unravelling those behind the gruesome murder.
Recall that three similar cases occurred late last year at Ikare Akoko involving women with their private parts and breasts removed while, another 8-year-old pupil of Saint George’s Anglican Primary school, Okeagbe-Akoko was also murdered under the same circumstances.
