A sad drama played out in the wee hours of Thursday as a male student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, UNIZIK, Awka, Anambra State, who reportedly went to a female hostel to rape a student sustained high degree of injuries.
The female student, simply identified as Joy, whom he was attempting to rape was said to have raised the alarm which forced the suspected rapist to jump down the second floor of the female hostel, block A, at about 3:45am.
He fell into a gutter and got himself critically injured.
The unnamed suspect is reprtedly a final year student of Parasitology and Entomology in the university.
As at press time, there was no official statement from the school regarding the incident.
