Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen, Tuesday killed six people in a multiple attack on Takowok and Rahol Gasa villages of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The gunmen attacked and killed two men including a member of Operation Rainbow, the Plateau State Security outfit, in a farm at Takowok village, while four others in Rahol Gasa were also killed by the herdsmen.

A resident of the community, Titus Samuel named the victims of the attack as Habila Fom and Joseph Bayi Dung. Samuel noted that the victims were men of Operation Rainbow before their demise in the hands of the suspected gunmen.

One of those who lost their relations in Rahol Gasa, Pastor Badung Davou, said his daughter in-law and grandson were killed in the attack, adding that the attackers spoke in Fulfulde and English language.

Davou further claimed that the gunmen at about 9pm shot at him, but missed because he ran into the bush for safety. He said his daughter in-law, Felicia Badung and her eight-year-old son, Amos Badung, were not that lucky as the suspected herdsmen killed them.
