Suspected cultists attack man, chop off his right hand in Delta

Reports reaching DAILY POST has it that there is serious tension in Oviorie community in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State as suspected members of a cult group chopped off the right hand of a young boy simply identified as Onoriode at Kess-Bar drinking spot.

But for the quick intervention of soldiers on guard at Oviorie community junction, the victim would have been dead as the suspected cultists’ mission was to eliminate him.

The victim has since been rushed to a hospital around Akpobi junction in Oviorie where he is receiving treatments.

Local vigilante have beefed up security at the hospital to avert further attacks.

DAILY POST reports that no one is allowed into the hospital except family members of the victim in order not to disclose his (victim) identity.

Details as to why the right hand of the young man was severed were still sketchy at the time of filing this report.

A source who craved anonymity stated that the suspected cultists who are members of Vikings in a reprisal attack over one of their members who was seriously injured wielded battle-axe, machetes, daggers and allegedly attacked the victim.

The source noted that the incident sparked tension in the area.

According to the source, “They would have killed the boy but because soldiers came early. But before then, his right hand was already off.”
