The incident occurred at a local beach at Henshaw Town, along Hawkins Street, Calabar, Cross River State capital by 10am on Saturday.

Shortly after the shooting, the victim fell while the attackers escaped and the victim was immediately carried away by sympathisers suspected to be members of his cult group but the security personnel rescued the body of the victim and rushed him to the Hospital.
Iyor said to be doing manicure was said to be a quiet man and it was difficult to believe he belonged to any cult group. An eyewitness who simply gave her name as Veronica Etim said she was shocked at the action of young men who gunned down a fellow human as if he was an animal.
“When people want to kill animals, they have sympathy but our young men of today particularly suspected cultists don’t have sympathy, it’s rather unfortunately,” Mrs Etim lamented.
The Commissioner of Police, Halfix Inuwa replying to our correspondent’s text message on Sunday confirmed the incident, saying that the victim died, “I heard about the death of a cultist following a fracas between two rival cult groups.”
