The Lagos State Police Command is currently on the trail of an alleged cultist, Anu Olokodana for snapping his friend’s neck and dumping his body in a swimming pool.

DAILY POST gathered that the victim, Adeleke Awosiga, incurred the anger of the alleged cultist when he demanded to dance with one of the gang’s girlfriend during a birthday party at Isheri area of Lagos on June 13 at about 4pm.

According to an eyewitness, trouble started when the deceased asked the celebrant’s girlfriend identified as Rashida Oponmiga, for a dance.

“The lady, however, declined. This apparently annoyed the cult members who had been urging him to join them and had tagged him an enemy after he refused.

“One of the cult members, Iyanu Liasu, slapped Awosiga for asking Rashida for a dance. This led to a fight between Liasu and Awosiga,” the witness averred.

It was further learnt that the managers of the hotel which was been used for the celebration ordered all those at the party out of its vicinity as a result of the noise they were making.

The deceased alongside his friends who were sent out of the hotel moved towards the swimming pool area where he was attacked and his body dumped in a pool.

Father of the deceased, Mr Adeyemi Awosiga, while reacting to the death of his son said: “I was told that the celebrants and the cult members pounced on my son and held him while one Liasu twisted his neck. They later pushed him into the hotel swimming pool. They fled thereafter.”

Awosiga’s corpse is said to have been recovered from the pool and consequently deposited at the Military Hospital Mortuary in Yaba by officers from the Isheri Police Division after the case was reported there.

Though, Awosiga’s murder and Rashida have are at large, the police have been able to arrest two member of the gang.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, said the two suspects arrested have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, in Yaba area of the State for further investigation.
