Gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram terrorists on Thursday hijacked a passenger bus and kidnapped about 8 indigenes of Igboho and Ogboro towns along Igboho-Igbeti road in Oyo state.
A source told DAILY POST that the suspects blocked the road and reportedly abducted the eight passengers in the bus.
He added that the armed men emerged from a bush at the Old Oyo National Park and blocked the bus.
The source confirmed that the kidnappers ordered the occupants of the bus including the driver to alight and board another vehicle they had already parked by the roadside.
He said that they were held hostage in the bush for some minutes before they were taken to an unknown destination.
Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu who confirmed the abduction, however, said that the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abiodun Odude had deployed his men to the area to search for the kidnapped victims, rescue them and arrest the kidnappers.
