Barely 24 hours after some unidentified bombers hit the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state, killing 11 people and injuring 30 others, heavily armed gunmen on Monday morning launched an attack on the Special Anti-Robbery Squad’s headquarters (SARS) in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
The Nigerian military had last Friday declared 19 leaders of the radical Islamic group wanted while placing a N290 million bounty on their heads.
The latest attack which resulted in a gun-duel, lasted for many hours. It was seen as an attempt by men suspected to be members of the Boko Haram to free their members in police custody.
