Suspected armed robbers injures one, snatches another’s car on way to traditional marriage in Effurun

Suspected armed robbers today injured an unidentified man and snatched a Toyota Corolla car belonging to one Ambrose Okoro at gun point about 9am at Effurun roundabout on Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State,DAILY POST can report.

DAILY POST gathered that the suspected three-man gang trailed and double-crossed Ambrose Okoro who was going for a traditional marriage between Dieta Happy Aghogho and Onome Peter Avwerosuoghene at Aladja Community in Udu Local Government Area of the State.

They shot sporadically into the air, scaring everyone in sight and causing serious tension in the area before they snatched the Toyota Corolla from Ambros and zoomed off.

It was after the suspected armed robbers had left the scene that it was discovered that an unidentified man was hit by stray bullets during the sporadic shootings.

The injured man has also been rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Efffurun for treatment.

Ambrose Okoro could not give the registration number of his vehicle due to the trauma as he was seen wailing.

Contacted on the matter, the Divisional Police Officer of Ekpan Police Divisional Headquarters, CSP Chris Sorgbara declined comments on the matter but a police source within the station confirmed the report saying,” the robbers attacked and snatched away the man’s Toyota Corolla car and injured one person.”

The source also noted that the Ekpan Divisional Police Headquarters is doing everything possible to recover the car, track and arrest the suspected armed robbers.
