The Secretary to Borno state Government,SSG, Alhaji Usman Jidda Shuwa has been advised by some students to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s crusade against corruption and the effort to bring to an end the Boko Haram insurgency in the state and north east at large.
He made the call yesterday in his office when the National Association of Nigerian Students NANS paid him a courtesy call to present to him an award as Achiever per Excellence and model of honour.
The SSG who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Hassan said change comes with prayers, pointing out that surely the students will benefit, while advising them to dedicate themselves to their studies and shun all social vices that may be detrimental to their progress as future leaders of the country.
Alhaji Shuwa said award and honour dine to him by the association is not for him alone but the entire state and the governor who gave the opportunity to serve and contribute his quota to the development of the state nation at large.
He also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the students association for funding him worthy for the award while assuring thatched his continuous support and encouragement to the students towards excellence in their academic pursues.
Earlier in his speech, the President of the association Comrade Tijjani Usman Shehu represented by the Vice President Comrade Jane Poske Amate said the association was an apex umbrella of students body in Nigeria and those in diaspora with membership strength of over 40 million students.
He noted also that the association being the vanguard of the oppressed voice of the voiceless has over the years identified personalities who have dymistified service above self towards the emancipation of Nigerian masses in various fields of Endeavour.
Comrade Tijani described the SSG as a seasoned administrator, a professional per excellence , youths champion, visionary leader.
