Players of the Super Eagles were not happy after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), refused to pay them their win bonus in cash.
Nigeria beat Swaziland 2-0 on Tuesday, to progress into the next round of qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup.
They were paid $5,000 for the win and received half that amount for the draw in Lobambo last Friday.
“The players were unhappy that they did not receive cash for their bonuses. The NFF have already directed the players to open foreign accounts at a particular bank; so this did not come to them as a surprise,” a source told AfricanFootball.
Governor Nyesom Wike also gave out $40,000 to the Eagles, after promising to pay $20,000 per goal.
