The Super Eagles’ travel plans, have been thrown into chaos, after they finally resolved their bonus row with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The team was scheduled to fly out on Thursday and arrived later in the day at Sao Paulo, before taking another flight to Belo Horizonte on Friday morning. However, the player strike ruined those plans and the NFF have been struggling to get flights for the players.
It is understood that the team will now leave in batches. Captain Vincent Enyeama led the first batch, which took off on Friday morning. Those on the flight included Austin Ejide, Nnamdi Oduamadi, Babatunde Michael, Ahmed Musa, Joseph Akpala, Anthony Ujah, Brown Ideye and Kenneth Omeruo.
The second batch will depart on Saturday and will have team officials along with John Mikel Obi, Godfrey Oboabona, John Ogu, Elderson Echiejile, Efe Ambrose, Gambo Mohammed, Sunday Mba, Benjamin Francis, Azubuike Egwuekwe, Fegor Ogude, Chigozie Agbim, Solomon Kwambe and Emeka Eze.
The chaotic domestic flight connections in Brazil, will mean that the Eagles are not guaranteed to arrive in Belo Horizonte as planned, as scheduled flights were delayed for hours on Friday.
