Kelechi Iheanacho scored from the spot to secure a 1-1 draw for Nigeria against Corsica in an international friendly match played in Ajaccio on Friday night.
The Corsicans led the Super Eagles 1-0 at half time, after debutant Tyrone Ebuehi was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area by referee Hamel Johan. Mandrichi converted his kick.
Henry Onyekuru, Ahmed Musa and Alhassan Ibrahim all missed very good chances to draw Nigeria level before the break.
Gernot Rohr’s men continue to dominate in the second half, but had to wait until the 80th minute, when Etebo Oghenekaro was fouled in the area.
Iheanacho made no mistakes from 12 yards.
The Eagles will face Togo in another international friendly on June 1.
