Super Eagles eyeing top 10 place in FIFA rankings

The Nigeria Football Federation boss, Aminu Maigari, has said that the current African champions, are aiming to make into the top 10 footballing nations in he world this year.

The Super Eagles are currently sitting in the 30th position in FIFA’s rankings, after their title-winning performanes in South Africa.

“Like you know we have secured a friendly with the CONCACAF champions Mexico. It is part of our drive to ensure that we finish the year among the best 10 footballing nations in the world,” Maigari told MTNFootball.

“We are in talks with the other soccer powers in the world and we hope to utilise every FIFA free window.”

The Super Eagles’ best ranking was in April 1994, when they are rated the fifth best team in the world.

They will face Mexico on March 31.
