Super Eagles’ chief coach, Salisu Yusuf, has thrown his support behind Wilfred Ndidi’s proposed move to Premier League champions, Leicester City.
Ndidi is expected to join Claudio Ranieri’s team in January during the winter transfer window.
Yusuf says that the desire of the Eagles’ technical crew, is to see more Nigerian players feature in Europe’s top leagues.
“I will advise Ndidi to go England because the EPL is better with more followership in Nigeria than the Belgian league,” he told Goal.
“Ndidi is a good player and I believe he will succeed there. Super Eagles’ technical crew is eager to see more Nigerians play in top leagues in Europe and I can say that I am happy about the news linking him to Leicester City.
“We need all our players to be in top shape and if Ndidi fulfils his desire to play in England, it will be a big plus to the national team.
“He should ensure he gets playing opportunities too so maintain his shirt in the Eagles. The game against Cameroun is only few months away and everything must be in top gear to ensure that we do not lack anything in terms of preparations for the tie.”
