Sunshine Stars crisis: ‘You can’t beat my record’ – Abiodun fires back at Ogunja for cal

The last is yet to be heard on the lingering crisis rocking the Sunshine Stars football club of Akure.

The verbal attack on the newly-appointed Technical Director of the club, Akadiri Abiodun by the Executive Director, Sunshine Stars, Tunde Ogunja where the latter had referred to the formal as a “washer man” and a novice in football administration has continued to cause ripples in the state.

DAILY Post had reported how Ogunja frowned at the appointment of Abiodun and vowed not work with him, because according to him Abiodun does not have the necessary prerequisite as a football administrator.

He also added that, he was not carried along in the selection process, which he said was solely done by the chairman of the agency, Tajudeen Akinyemi as well as the state’s Commissioner for Sports, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, who he said had earlier announced that the club has been disbanded without due consultations.

Reacting to the attack on his person, the newly-appointed Technical Director, Abiodun in Akure, over the weekend slammed Ogunja over the “washer man” statement, stating that he his more than qualified to hold any position as regards football administration within and outside the country, going by his records and pedigree.

Also describing the statement as absurd, Abiodun maintained that his impact within the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL and on the African Continent and beyond is there for all to see.

“Abusive words are not permitted in the rules and regulations of the game.

“I am well trained from a good family we don’t insult elders, but it is absurd for someone to call a Senior Staff in a Polytechnic who has achieved as a Coach in the citadel of learning a ‘Washer Man’.

“I am a degree holder in Human kinetics with a good grade not only that, I am the best Student in my department, attended NIS, Managing Players and Coaches in Nigeria and Abroad.

“I signed 7 Players into Sunshine Stars FC, they are Abulatan Taye, Oseni Waheed, Olafimihan Segun, Samoura, Thiam, Raimi Bakare and Camara.

“I am Scout to Wikki Tourist of Bauchi, Bendel Insurance FC when Kayode Emmanuel was a player of the football club, Sharks FC of Port Harcourt, WAT Algeria, Hapoel Hargan, Israel, Fujarat FC UAE, to mention but a few.

NIS is a requirement for CAF license. My class mate are in Premier league in Nigeria. Kastina T. A is My class mate.

“I don’t want to blow My trumpet but the situation on ground warrant it.

“I am qualified to be in any position in Football, Nigeria and Abroad, he stated.
