Sultan declares June 15 as Sallah day

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar has declared Friday, June 15 as Sallah day.

The sultan made the declaration following the sighting of the new moon of Shawwal on Thursday night.

NAN reports that the new crescent was sighted in Borno, Sokoto, Kaduna, Plateau, Kano, Nasarawa among others.

The monarch said the reports were verified and authenticated.

Sultan Sa’ad prayed “Allah to reward the deeds during the fasting period and to answer all the prayers for the leaders and the country.”

He also called on Muslims to live in peace with one another irrespective to their differences, saying this was the only way to overcome the challenges as a nation.
