Borno State government has equipped some private primary schools with scanning devices in order to beef up security at learning environments across the Maiduguri metropolis.
The Chairman, Committee on the Resuscitation of Primary Education System, Dr. El-Nur Dongel, while presenting the scanners to some primary schools on Friday said the presentation of the scanning devices was to ensure security within the schools.
He said the gesture was to complement efforts of the schools in ensuring proper checking at the entrance of the schools, urging the school managements to always be security conscious.
He also extolled the noble efforts of the security agents and the Civilian JTF for curtailing activities of the insurgents within Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Some of the benefiting schools include Airport Private School, Police Private School, Capital Private School, Imam Malik Islamiyya, Women League, Darul-Salam, Sheikh Ibrahim Islamiyya and Thanaiyya schools, all in Maiduguri.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the presentation, some of the beneficiaries pledged to make good use of the scanning devices to enhance security in their respective schools.
