The Yobe State Police Command on Monday confirmed the death of thirteen persons from the attack on a bus station by a female suicide bomb in the State capital, Damaturu.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in Yobe, Toyin Gbadegesin, who said “The death toll from the suicide attack at the Damaturu motor park now stands at 13, with the death of six more victims at the hospital”.
It will be recalled that the attack took place on Sunday at about 11 am in the state capital and was blamed on the Boko Haram sect, who are now using women and young girls to carry out their evil act in the northern part of Nigeria.
According to reports, a woman entered the main bus station in the city wearing an explosive vest. She later blew herself up injuring thirty-two people in the process.
The PPRO continued that, “Later, six more died from among the injured victims. The remaining 26 are being treated for injuries they sustained in the attack”.
