Luck ran out of a suicide bomber yesterday in Potiskum, the Yobe State capital, as he blew himself up in an uncompleted building in the Tsohuwar Kasuwa area of the town after a failed mission.
A witness, Abubakar Salisu, disclosed that the incident took place around 5:00pm when the bomber alighted from a tricycle and walked towards a group of people at a local Qur’anic competition but was stopped by volunteer guards.
“Many people became suspicious of him as he started advancing. We shouted at him to leave the area, and he ran into an uncompleted building where the bomb exploded”, he said.
Sources say the mutilated body parts of the bomber were taken to the Potiskum General Hospital in a sack and deposited at the morgue.
