Suarez, Van Persie, Bale shortlisted for PFA Player of the Year – See full nomination lists

The trio of Robin van Persie (Manchester United), Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspurs) and Luis Suarez (Liverpool), have all been included in the Professional Footballers’ Association six-man shortlist for the Player of the Year award.

Van Persie won last year’s gong, after a stunning season with Arsenal and continued his sparkling form with United, after his summer move. The Dutchman has 21 goals in the League and has scored 25 times in total.

Bale, who took home the award in the 2010/2011 season, has also emerged as the main man for Spurs, as they challenged for honours in the Europa League and continue to chase a top four finish.

The Welsh winger is also included in the Young Player category, along with Christian Benteke (Aston Villa), Danny Welbeck (Manchester United), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal), Eden Hazard (Chelsea) and Romelu Lukaku (West Brom).
