Suarez reportedly set to sign contract extension at Liverpool

According to a report in Uruguay, Liverpool striker Luis Suarez could end up staying at Liverpool this season and may even sign a contract extension.

Martin Charquero, a leading GolTV Latin America journalist, claims that the former Ajax player told him that he will not leave Anfield, despite strong interest from Arsenal.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, on Tuesday, insisted that their star play would not join the Gunners and Charquero appears to confirm the new developments.

The journalist tweeted: “Luis Suarez confirms to me that he will not leave Liverpool. The support of the fans in recent weeks influenced his decision.”

Charquero added: “Suarez sees it as likely that he’ll sign a renewal (extension) to the contract that binds him to Liverpool.”
