Suarez did not apologise to Rodgers before resuming first-team training, Liverpool close in on Willi

The UK Guardian, who published that exclusive Luis Suarez interview about broken promises and his desire to leave Liverpool, have now reported that the striker infact did not apologise to manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Uruguay international was welcomed backed into first-team training yesterday, for the first time since he openly talked about wanting Champions League football and trying to force a move to Arsenal. Suarez was angry with the Anfield club, after they refused to open negotiations with the Gunners, despite their much publicised £40,000,001 offer, which was targeted at activating a key clause.

Rodgers had insisted that Suarez will not be allowed back into first-team fold, except he said he was sorry for his “total disrespect of the club’. It is understood that he was allowed back, after positive discussions with the manager, although there was no apology.

The former Ajax player’s future is far from being resolved and his relationship with Rodgers is now strained. The club is trying to sign Brazillian midfielder Willian for a reported £30m, which could still mean that Suarez could leave before the September 2 deadline.
